Offerings and Eligibility

Eligibility - Baseball

Baseball registration is open to players ages 7-16. To determine eligibility, we use the player's age on April 30. So, if your player is at least seven years old on April 30, 2012, but no more than fifteen years old on April 30, 2012, then your player is eligible to play baseball with the Rockport Diamond Sports. In addition, players must comply with Cal Ripken and/or Babe Ruth residency requirements, and have primary residence in Rockport.

Eligibility - Softball

Eligibility for softball is not determined by age. Rather, it is determined by your player's grade. Players in grades 3 thru 8 during the 2011-2012 school year are eligible to play softball with the Rockport Diamond Sports.

Age Determination

The date for determining a player's age for eligibility is April 30 of the current year. The player's age on April 30, 2012 is the age that is used to determine his/her eligibility for participation.

Baseball We offer the following baseball levels of play. Rookie Division. Entry level for players 7-8 years old.Players do not pitch. Minors Division. Live pitching at this level for players 9-10 years old. Majors Division. For players 10-12 years old. Babe Ruth U14. For players 13-14 years old. Babe Ruth U16. For players 15-16 years old.

Softball We offer the following softball levels of play. Class C Division. This division is made up of players in grades 3 and 4. Class B Division. This division is made up of players in grades 5 and 6. Class A Division. This division is made up of players in grades 7 and 8.

Rockport Diamond Sports does not offer T-Ball. T-Ball in Rockport is offered by the Town of Rockport, Recreation Committee. Click here to visit the Recreation Department website for more information.
